Questions
What is it going to cost to have my home restored?
Since there are many variables with each water restoration job, such as how much water, what category water, how many rooms, etc., we cannot price jobs before performing an in-home inspection.
Can I restore the damage myself?
It is not recommended to handle water damages yourself for several reasons. Noncommercial grade drying equipment (like shop vacs) will probably not extract water from both the carpet and the padding. Over a short period of time, this will lead to secondary damages, which are more costly to fix.
Is the damage covered by my insurance?
Review your insurance policy with your agent to determine if you have proper coverage for the damage. It would be a good idea to review coverage ahead of time to make sure you are covered for all situations, such as sump pump failures, which require an inexpensive insurance rider.
Can my carpet and pad be salvaged after flooding?
There are many factors that must be considered when determining if your carpet and pad can be safely salvaged after flooding. Your Stanley Steemer Water Damage restoration manager will be able to assess the level of damage and will inform you of your options.
My hardwood floor has buckled. Can it be salvaged?

If the floor is dried quickly and thoroughly, it may be able to be saved. There are no guarantees, however, that it can be salvaged. Your Stanley Steemer water damage restoration manager will advise you of your options.

How can I minimize the chance of microbial growth in my walls?

After flooding, the best way to prevent this occurrence is to call in a professional to thoroughly dry the walls and the space between them as quickly as possible.

Does furniture or other personal belongings need to be removed from my home during restoration?
If safe to do so, remove whatever items you can from the wet areas. Once we arrive, our technicians may move other items into dry, unaffected areas of your home.
Do I have a choice of contractors to use for restoring my property?

Yes. The customer always has the full authority to use whichever restoration company they feel is qualified. It doesn’t cost the insured any more or less to call their own company in. the important factor is to make sure the damage is handled correctly the first time.

Why should I choose an IICRC-certified restoration company?

The importance of having Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) cannot be understated—it assures you of trained, experienced technicians on every job. IICRC-certified firms should not use non-certified employees to handle your restoration job at the risk of improperly mitigating the damages.

In addition to being certified by the industry’s most widely recognized and accepted certification program, all our technicians attend IICRC-accredited continuing education and training programs several times a year. Stanley Steemer operations invest a significant amount of time and money in training and equipment to ensure we perform the highest standards of work.
