THE STANLEY STEEMER SAND & REFINISH PROCESS
1.
Service begins with a thorough analysis and consultation.
2.
We thoroughly inspect the floor for needed repairs and set any protruding nail heads
or staples.
3.
Then we prepare your floor for sanding by removing vent covers and baseboards, and
thoroughly vacuuming your floor.
4.
As your floor is sanded, a powerful, dust containment system attached to the refinishing
equipment virtually eliminates dust.
5.
An edger is used to sand areas, like corners, which were inaccessible to the sanding
machine. We hand sand areas the edger cannot reach.
6.
The floor is inspected a second time for nail holes, sander marks, or cracks in the floor.
7.
After these are attended to, we vacuum and tack your floor, until it’s completely
clean.
8.
Then we apply the low-odor, non-toxic stain of your choice.
9.
Once the stain is completely dry, a quick-drying sealer is applied.
10.
After the sealer dries, an extremely durable polyurethane finish is applied according
to manufacturer recommendations.
11.
Before we leave, we will discuss drying and curing times with you.
12.
We also provide information on proper maintenance practices, so you can enjoy your
beautiful refinished floor longer.
